The pic on the right side of the page is my female G.rosea. She was the very first tarantula I acquired. She has taught me alot. I used damp potting for a substrate, and she let me know that she hated it by climbung the walls for a week. I finally, after trying everything to appease her, dumped in some dry garden soil as a last resort. She loved it. She finally walked on the ground as a normal tarantula is suppose to. I had given her a black coffee cup laid on it's side as a place to hide, but she never went in it until I put in the dry soil. Then she decided to move in and set up housekeeping. She started eating regularly and webbed herself a comfortable little home. A few monthe later I had a chance to acquire a male.

This is a pic of the male rosea I acquired at a different pet shop. Someone had come to the shop to "get rid of" the tarantula they had. I saw him and immediately purchased him for $7.00, and gave him the name of Herman. He proved to be a suitable husband for Rosey.
